The main use of modified silicone resin is mostly as a heat-resistant coating. However, in the United States and Europe, polymer modified and alkyd resin modified silicone paint are widely used as the main materials for weather resistant outdoor production in buildings, especially acrylic modified silicone resin has been widely used as the main material for weather resistant coatings on building exterior walls.

In order to reduce pollution and improve operating conditions, solvent-free H-grade insulating silicone impregnating paint was not developed in foreign countries in the 1960s. Solvent free impregnating paint is a 100% silicone resin liquid, mainly additive or peroxide type silicone resin. Cure by heating at 70-200 ° C with organic peroxides or lead catalysts. Research has shown that silicone resins containing vinyl groups cure faster than those without vinyl groups, because vinyl groups are more susceptible to the action of peroxide catalysts. Therefore, they can cure at lower temperatures (such as 80 ° C) and no volatile reactants are generated during curing. Silicone resins containing vinyl groups are particularly suitable for use as impregnating paints; Moreover, due to the low viscosity of silicone resins containing vinyl groups, they can be used solvent-free in many situations. Therefore, currently all solvent-free impregnating paints contain a certain proportion of ethylene groups, which, in the presence of peroxide initiators, polymerize and crosslink into an insoluble paint film.

The synthesis process of solvent-free addition molding silicone resin is relatively complex and costly, usually requiring the synthesis of four components: base resin, cross-linked vinylsiloxane, active diluent (linear vinylsiloxane), crosslinking agent (containing hydrosiloxane), and lead complex catalyst.The basic resin is mainly composed of monomers such as (GH5) iCl2, (C6 pressure) SiCb, (CH3) 2 SiCl2, (CH3) C CH2=CH) SiClz, (CH3 is SiCI and CCH3) SiCh or (CH3) Si C ORh, which are co hydrolyzed and condensed in a certain ratio in the presence of toluene, butyl acetate, and isopropanol to obtain the hydrolysate.Then, under the action of a small amount of alkaline catalyst, heat the condensation equilibrium to obtain the target substance. The active diluent is low viscosity siloxane containing vinyl groups, and the crosslinking agent is low polymerization linear or cyclic methylsiloxane. In order to improve the compatibility between methylhydrosiloxane and the base resin, it is often necessary to introduce other links, such as adding hydrogenated silicone oil to a-methylstyrene to produce partially substituted methylated hydrogenated silicone oil.

Unsaturated polyester resin has certain heat resistance, good electrical insulation and physical properties. Its application process is relatively mature, but it is generally suitable for use at 155 ° C and is prone to combustion. The modification of unsaturated polyester with organic silicone resin can compensate for some shortcomings in the performance of unsaturated polyester resin, thereby improving its performance and expanding its applications.Organosilicon modified unsaturated polyester can be used as a solvent-free insulation impregnation paint. For example, by diluting the organosilicon modified unsaturated polyester with styrene to 120 seconds (coating -4 cups, tested at 23 ° C), adding an appropriate amount of high and low temperature polymerization inhibitors of hydroquinone and tert butylcatechol, and initiator of diisopropylbenzene peroxide, with a gelation time of 178 seconds, the organosilicon modified unsaturated polyester resin is obtained. Cure according to the curing process Cl60 ° C X 3h+180 ° C X 3h+190 ° C X 2h to obtain the test sample.

The TG curves of organic silicon modified unsaturated polyester impregnating paint and heat-resistant unsaturated polyester impregnating paint show that the heat resistance performance of organic silicon modified unsaturated polyester impregnating paint is more stable, and the apparent decomposition temperature is higher. Using it as impregnating paint can make the transformer have a higher ultimate service temperature after impregnation.
